John Hayes

Partner at Claros DD and acts as an editor and project manager. John was an editor and  chief of reporters at Forbes in the heyday of business magazines in the 1980s and 1990s. Later he turned to buy-side research, working directly with portfolios managers at several investment firms and managing projects at third-party research providers. Building on his journalism background, his expertise lies in due-diligence field research: contacting former employees and other knowledgeable sources to learn about management capability, product differentiation, and how well or poorly a company is positioned in its market.

A life-long New Yorker, he moved to rural Berkshire County, MA with his wife a few years ago where they are restoring a nineteenth century barn and taming an old, overgrown cow pasture.
